During his time as head of feature film acquisitions, Roman Paul was responsible for the acquisition of films including Lasse Hallström’s “Chocolat”, Alejandro Amenabar’s “The Others”, Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s “Amores Perros” and Damien O’Donnell’s “East is East”. |

His career in film acquisitions began as an assistant with Prokino Filmverleih, Munich. Roman Paul graduated with distinction from studying theatre, film and media studies at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main. He went on to study in New York, Paris and Takamatsu, Japan. |

Until April 2004 Roman Paul also worked as acquisitions consultant for world sales company Celluloid Dreams in Paris; there he bought films such as Thomas Riedelsheimer’s “Touch the Sound”, Hans Weingartner’s “The Edukators” (“Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei”), Miranda July’s “Me and You and Everyone We Know” and Hany Abu-Assad’s “Paradise Now”.
